The entire automotive industry is undergoing a rapid transformation where the actual driving of the vehicle is increasingly being taken over by sophisticated electronic systems. Within the foreseeable future, we will see fully autonomous vehicles in service. The focus is no longer just on autonomous vehicles, but on complete autonomous transport systems that guarantee safe and sustainable transport of goods and people.
We look for a senior systems developer with experience of AI Planning and Scheduling algorithms, who will join the group responsible for logistics and dispatch within autonomous transport solutions.
What is the point in having an autonomous vehicle if you do not know what to tell it to do and when to do it.
You will develop and improve the planning and scheduling algorithms that break down high-level transport demands into tasks. These tasks are then dispatched to the autonomous drones to execute.
You have a Master’s degree within the area of robotics, computer science or other relating area. We first and foremost look for a person with several years of experience in the areas of AI Planning, Scheduling and Constraint Programming. But we are also interested in newly graduated people with education within the listed areas with good results. You have been programming for several years, preferably in Java. Knowing the Swedish language is not required when applying for this position, but we expect the successful job applicant to learn it.
We are part of Scania’s research organisation working on sustainable transport solutions for the future. We find answers to the questions of how we can achieve radically reduced emissions, manage the negative effects of ongoing urbanisation and save human lives in traffic, as we take responsibility for creating a better and greener environment.
